March 2nd-March 6th

We had a great week in third grade! We were busy and as always, the class was very excited about learning. We had to say goodbye to our friend Alyssa. She is moving and will be going to a new school! The girls planned a special surprise lunch for her and the whole class made her a collage of pictures to take to her new house. Good luck to Alyssa and her family!

We are meeting with small groups for guided reading.

Last week, we learned about the flag and seal of the United States and this week, we will cover the liberty bell, the Statue of Liberty and the bald eagle. February 23rd-February 27th

I hope everyone enjoyed the chilly winter break! Our Valentine's Day pancake breakfast was a great success! The class really enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who sent in supplies and to the parent volunteers, Mrs. Hershberg, Mrs. Gordinier and Mr. Rodriguez!

A few months ago, Ann Schwanda came and the third graders created quilt squares to be made into quilts. The quilts are donated to children in local hospitals and shelters. She brought the quilts to Slingerlands for the third grade classes to see. Our quilt came out great!
